Giving

As the congressionally chartered Auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, we are an all-volunteer organization that depends upon outside financial support to accomplish our Emergency Services, Cadet Programs, and Aerospace and STEM Education missions. CAP is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, all gifts, grants, and donations are tax-deductible. While CAP receives funding from the federal government for federal emergency missions, it has no funding source other than donations to support state and local missions, further its Cadet Programs, and perform outreach to educators in our communities.

Iowa’s CAP membership is the fastest-growing CAP Wing in the country, with more than a 45% increase in adult volunteers and cadet members in the past year despite the effects of the COVID virus. Nearly 300 adult and cadet members in Iowa devote thousands of hours of volunteer each year at an estimated value to the state and local communities of more than $700,000. The Wing is quickly expanding its Cadet Program, greatly increasing the number of volunteer aircrew who are trained to respond in times of emergency and increasing our STEM and Aerospace Education outreach to local community schools. Funding will help ensure our continued growth and mission effectiveness.

If you have any questions concerning gifts, giving or grants, or you wish to complete a giving transaction to the Iowa Wing of CAP or any of our Squadrons, please contact Captain John Stephens, Director of Development at jstephens@iawg.cap.gov.
